A Glimpse of Field Scientific Activities at Iraq University College

Under the patronage of the Dean of Iraq University College, and in line with the College’s vision of linking academic knowledge with practical application, the Department of Energy Engineering—under the direct supervision of the Department Head and with the efforts of the second-year representative—organized a field scientific trip for second-year students to the Najibiya Gas Power Plant.

🔍 Visit Details:
The scientific tour provided students with close insight into the key components of this vital facility, including:

  • Generation Units: Understanding the operation of gas turbines and the energy production cycle.
  • Control Rooms: Learning about digital control systems and how electrical loads are managed.
  • Processing and Maintenance Units: Exploring the supporting systems of the plant and the routine maintenance methods used.

💡 Objective of the Activity:
Through such visits, the Department of Energy Engineering aims to enhance students’ technical skills and place them in real work environments, ensuring the preparation of engineers capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the energy and electricity sectors.

We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the management and staff of the Najibiya Gas Power Plant for their warm welcome and fruitful cooperation in providing valuable insights to our students.
