The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Qusay Al-Suhail, announced today that the current academic year of universities cannot be postponed in any way despite the presence of demonstrations, pointing out that universities in the governorates have permanence in addition to the existence of financial links among students of private universities, and that there is a sabbatical Some students’ studies prevent the option of postponing the school year.
Al-Suhail said in a statement to his media office: The demonstrations and the true demands must be preserved and at the same time, the universities should be kept away from some aspects that are not appropriate for the campus, such as burning operations and assaulting the security forces.
He added that “the current academic year of universities cannot be postponed and missed a year of study for students in any way, especially since some universities in other governorates are regular at all times.”
He added that “private universities are linked to installments for students, and there are those who have a sabbatical from their jobs, and therefore postponing the academic year is difficult and cannot happen.”
