الكلمة الترحيبية لرئيس قسم هندسة الاتصالات – كلية العراق الجامعة

لطلبة المرحلة الاولى للعام الدراسي 2023-2024

اخوتي الطلبة الأعزاء،

يسرّني أن أرحب بكم أجمل ترحيب في قسم هندسة الاتصالات، هذا القسم الذي يُعدّ من أهمّ الأقسام في كليّتنا، والذي يُعنى بتقديم برامج أكاديمية متميزة في مجال هندسة الاتصالات، بما يُلبي احتياجات سوق العمل المتطورة.

إنّ قسم هندسة الاتصالات في جامعتنا يفتخر بوجود نخبة من الأساتذة المتميزين ذوي الخبرة والكفاءة، والذين يبذلون قصارى جهودهم لتقديم أفضل ما لديهم من علمٍ وخبرةٍ لخدمة الطلبة.

كما أنّ القسم يُوفّر لطلبته أحدث التقنيات والمختبرات المُجهّزة بأفضل المعدات، وذلك لضمان حصولهم على تعليمٍ أكاديميٍ متميزٍ يُؤهّلهم للعمل في مختلف المجالات المتعلقة بهندسة الاتصالات.

أودّ أن أؤكّد لكم أنّ قسم هندسة الاتصالات يُولي اهتمامًا كبيرًا بتطوير مهارات الطلبة البحثية والعلمية، وذلك من خلال تنظيم العديد من الندوات والمؤتمرات والفعاليات العلمية، كما يُشجّع الطلبة على المشاركة في الأنشطة البحثية المختلفة.

ختامًا، أرجو منكم أن تبذلوا قصارى جهودكم في دراستكم، وأن تستفيدوا من جميع الإمكانيات التي يُوفّرها لكم القسم، وأن تكونوا على قدر المسؤولية الملقاة على عاتقكم، وأن تساهموا في خدمة المجتمع من خلال مهاراتكم وخِبراتكم.

مقرر قسم هندسة الاتصالات

Department of Communication Engineering (DOCE) has been considered to be an integral division of Iraq University College (IUC) since it was founded in 2005.This very department is characterized by being highly distinguished when taking all distinction criteria into consideration. All its staff members and students are conducting  research work in a  great variety of relevant specialization fields including wireless communication, control systems, designing and checking devices, systems of interactive control, smart devices, satellites, computers and cell phones, and code processing,   .  This is so, as the department aims at succeeding in all research fields, and the undergraduate four-year syllabi and programs consequently lead to providing holders of BSc in communication engineering.

           OCE annual teaching plans are of two aspects: theoretical and practical. Besides, the department has got its own summer training programs both on the campus and at t stations and establishments that are concerned with the field of communication engineering. 

Vision of the Communications Engineering Department at Iraq University College:

The vision of the Communications Engineering Department at Iraq University College is to be a pioneer in education and scientific research in the field of communications at the national and regional levels. This is achieved through preparing distinguished graduates who possess the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the evolving needs of the job market and participate in the development of modern communication technologies.

Message from the Communications Engineering Department at Iraq University College:

Our mission is to offer outstanding academic programs in the field of communications engineering that adhere to the latest international standards. We aim to professionally and academically prepare students to work in various fields of communications, enhancing their research and creative skills, and contributing to the development and prosperity of society.

Objectives of the Communications Engineering Department

Based on the vision and future outlook of the department, the Communications Engineering Department sets a set of goals to achieve, including:

1- Graduating qualified engineers in the field of communications engineering:

  • Equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in various fields of communications engineering.

  • Capable of keeping up with rapid developments in this field.

  • Possessing innovative and creative spirits.

2- Preparing specialized human resources in the field of communications engineering:

  • Capable of meeting the needs of the local and regional job markets.

  • Able to contribute to the development and advancement of society.

  • Capable of solving problems related to communications engineering.

3- Conducting scientific research in the field of communications engineering:

  • Contributing to the advancement of knowledge in this field.

  • Publishing the results of scientific research in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

  • Participating in local and international scientific conferences.

4- Providing consulting services to the community in the field of communications engineering:

  • Contributing to solving problems related to communications engineering facing the community.

  • Providing consultations to governmental and private entities in the field of communications engineering.

  • Raising awareness about the importance of communications engineering in society.

5- Enhancing cooperation with other educational and research institutions in the field of communications engineering:

These are some of the most important objectives of the Communications Engineering Department, which it seeks to achieve through diligent and continuous efforts by faculty members and staff in the department.

Outputs of the Communications Engineering Department at Iraq University College:

The Communications Engineering Department at Iraq University College graduates engineers equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in various fields of communications, including:

  1. Telecommunication Networks:

    • Designing, implementing, and maintaining wired and wireless communication networks.

    • Managing and operating communication networks.

    • Securing communication networks.

  2. Communication Systems:

    • Designing and developing various communication systems, such as mobile phone systems, television systems, and radio systems.

    • Testing and maintaining communication systems.

  3. Communication Electronics:

    • Designing and developing electronic circuits used in communication systems.

    • Testing and maintaining electronic circuits.

  4. Signal Processing:

    • Designing and developing signal processing algorithms used in communication systems.

    • Analyzing and improving the performance of communication systems.

Additionally, graduates of the Communications Engineering Department possess the following skills:

The Communications Engineering Department at Iraq University College is considered one of the best departments in Iraq, offering distinguished academic programs and providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in their professional lives.

Ability to work in telecommunication companies with mastery of the following skills

Knowing the components of communications networks, how to feed new subscribers, and how to solve system problems

Knowing how to deal with data lines for companies and banks

Knowing how to maintain subscriber lines and install internet lines

Technically dealing with analogue and digital communication technologies

Use of testing and measuring devices for telecommunications circuits

Installation, operation and maintenance of transmission lines and optical fibers

Carry out maintenance work for communication systems

Participate in the monitoring of various communication networks

Dealing with the technologies of digital switches and telephone systems

The ability to work in cellular companies according to the following skills

Dealing with mobile communication systems and GSM systems in particular and their transmission methods

GMS Understand the basic structure of a system

The ability to maintain telephone networks in large companies, which includes the following skills

Maintenance of telephone lines and private exchanges in the company

Design and maintenance of the company’s existing internet networks

Design and maintenance of Internet systems to communicate information within a single company Knowing marketing skills due to the multiplicity of Internet companies and the strength of competition between them

The ability to install ADSL internet lines, which includes the following skills

Know the information about the different internet lines and the speeds associated with them

Know everything related to ADSL lines in terms of installation, maintenance and speeds of the lines

Knowledge of marketing skills due to the multiplicity of Internet companies and the strength of competition between them
