By the directive of Mr. President of the University of Iraq, Dr. Abdul Hadi Al-Hassani,

The University of Iraq College (represented by the Department of Communications Engineering and the rapporteur, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Sharida) and the Ministry of Transportation (represented by the Planning Director, Mr. Mohammed Jamal) participated in the Second International Scientific Conference at the National University of Science and Technology in partnership with Thi Qar University under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under the slogan “Scientific Research is the Foundation for the Development of Nations”, held in Thi Qar for two days on 5-6/5/2024.

The participation of the University of Iraq College in this international conference embodied a wonderful model of fruitful scientific cooperation between academic institutions and governmental bodies. This cooperation was represented by conducting a joint scientific research addressing an issue of great importance in the field of smart maritime transport entitled: Vessel Berthing System Using Internet of Things (IoT) for Smart Port.

The scientific collaboration between the University of Iraq College and the Ministry of Transportation serves as a pioneering model of fruitful cooperation between academic institutions and governmental bodies. This collaboration contributes to the development of scientific research and the dissemination of knowledge, thereby improving the lives of citizens and building a better future for our country.
